Neon Drift Rush
★★★★☆ 4.2
Neon Drift Rush is pure arcade energy. Tracks are short, corners come fast, and the whole thing is built around holding drifts to fill a boost meter. It never pretends to be a simulator, and that's exactly why it works on a phone.
You can steer by tilt or by on-screen buttons, and I strongly preferred the buttons after a few tilt-induced crashes. The layout is well spaced and the touch response is tight. The neon look is gorgeous but it's demanding: my phone got hot quickly and the battery took a real hit.
Dropping the graphics to medium in settings fixed most of the heat and only slightly dulled the glow. As a short-burst racer it's a lot of fun, just don't expect a marathon session on a single charge.
What we liked
- Tight, responsive drift controls
- Great looking neon tracks
- Graphics options help with heat
