Emberfall Saga
Emberfall Saga is the kind of RPG you sink into for hours. You gather a small party, each with their own quirks and skill trees, and work through a branching story that actually reacts to a few of your choices. The writing has more personality than I expected from a mobile release.
Combat is turn-based, which suits touch controls perfectly since nothing needs split-second reflexes. Menus are big and clear, and you can queue actions without fumbling. The trade-off is battery: extended play sessions drained my phone noticeably, and it got warm during the flashier boss animations.
There's a decent settings panel that lets you cap the frame rate, which helped both heat and battery a lot. If you like slow, deliberate RPGs and don't mind reading, this is an easy recommendation.
What we liked
- Genuinely engaging story and characters
- Comfortable turn-based combat for touchscreens
- Frame cap option tames battery use
